BLUE UP Student Incentive Program Starts this Week

Rogers State University students will once again be able to earn free stuff by simply showing up to Hillcat Athletics and Campus Activities Team events this year.

The BLUE UP student incentive program, sponsored by C.A.T. and the RSU athletic department, kicks off once again on Thursday as the Hillcat men’s soccer team faces Bacone College at 7 p.m.

The program rewards students for attending and participating in campus events with prizes such as free pizza, t-shirts and flash-drive bracelets. Students who attend at least 16 events during the course of the school year will qualify for a chance to win an iPad2.

“We were thrilled with the way our students responded to BLUE UP last year and we’re very pleased to bring it back for 2011-2012,” said RSU Director of Athletics Ryan Bradley. “Student participation is vital to the success of all our programs and this is a great way for us to entice our students to become more involved.”

Students must simply have their new student id cards swiped at an event to begin earning BLUE UP points immediately. The BLUE UP table will be present at every home athletic event and select C.A.T events for the entire school year.

Prizes will be given out to the first 250 students to reach each incentive level. The first level of achievement requires attendance at four athletics or C.A.T events. Once a student has earned the four necessary points, they will receive an email notification and can claim their prize at the student affairs offices – Centennial Center, Room 201.

Level 1 achievers will receive a coupon for a free large pizza from a local vendor. Students who attend a combined total of eight athletics or C.A.T. events will earn a BLUE UP t-shirt. Attendance at 12 athletics or C.A.T. events will score a BLUE UP flash drive bracelet. Finally, every student who attends a total of 16 athletics or C.A.T events will be entered into the grand prize drawing for an iPad2.

The BLUE UP booth will be open from the beginning of the first game until halftime of the final game at each athletic event. All students will have the opportunity to swipe their cards at C.A.T. events.
