Jeffs Named Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athlete
Sophomore guard Taylor Jeffs was named a 2012 Daktronics - NAIA Scholar Athlete. FRANKFORT, Ky. – The NAIA has announced that Rogers State women’s basketball player Taylor Jeffs is one of 127 Division I Women’s Basketball student-athletes that have been named 2012 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athletes.
Jeffs, an Oologah, Okla. native, is majoring in secondary education. Although the guard is a sophomore on the court, she has reached junior academic status in the classroom and holds a 3.67 GPA. Jeffs played in 21 games this season and aided the Hillcats in their run to the quarterfinals at the NAIA Division I Women’s Basketball National Championship.
In order to be nominated by an institution’s head coach, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved a junior academic status to qualify for this honor.
Rogers State (22-12) closed out the 2011-12 season with its most successful run at the national tournament, falling in the quarterfinals.
