CLAREMORE, Okla. – As the sixth season of Rogers State basketball gears up, the athletics department announced Friday Hillcat hoops will return to the airwaves of RSU Radio 91.3FM this season.

“We’re excited to renew our partnership with RSU Radio for the 2012-13 basketball season,” RSU Director of Athletics Ryan Bradley said. “There’s a lot of anticipation about this year’s teams and these broadcasts will ensure our fans don’t miss any of the action.”

In addition to games on RSU Radio, Hillcat Athletics will provide live streaming on the Hillcat Network for the second straight season at www.rsuhillcats.com/live. Games will be simulcast on the Hillcat Network with live HD video streaming at all home contests along with audio streaming provided for all road contests.

“As the transition to full NCAA membership begins, it is a perfect time to be teamed up with Athletics again” says Cathy Coomer, General Manager of KRSC 91.3 FM and assistant professor in Communications.

Shawn Tiemann and Steve Bontrager return for their sixth season as the voices of Hillcat Hoops. Tiemann has more than ten-years of play-by-play experience and works full-time as a producer and on-air talent at 97.1 FM and 96.1FM The Sports Animal in Tulsa and Vinita. He serves as the voice of Sapulpa High School football on AM 1550 in the fall and also calls games for Oral Roberts University women’s basketball and baseball on occasion.

Bontrager, RSU’s color analyst, is a former All-American basketball player at ORU and served as the coach of the Tulsa Zone and Tulsa Fastbreakers professional teams in the early 1990’s. He also worked for several years as the color commentator for ORU men’s basketball before signing on with RSU. When not working with the Hillcats, Bontrager gives personal instruction to some of the area’s top basketball prospects at the Health Zone in Tulsa.

RSU Radio is a 3,000-watt student and volunteer-operated radio station on the RSU campus. RSU Radio is the only live broadcast, college alternative radio station in northeastern Oklahoma. 91.3FM will broadcast 62 games both home and away, bringing Hillcat basketball back to your radio.

The Hillcat Network on rsuhillcats.com/live is the home for all Hillcat broadcasts with free live audio and video streaming. Hillcat Network coverage is iPhone, iPad and iPod friendly and is also compatible with most other mobile devices. Live video streaming will be provided for 30 home dates from the Claremore Expo while audio streaming will be provided for 34 road contests.
