Collins Named SAC Men's Soccer Player of the Week

SHAWNEE, Okla. - For the second time this season, Rogers State forward Necas Collins earned Sooner Athletic Conference Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week for Oct. 8-14 as announced by the SAC office on Monday.

Collins and USAO's Perry Sansford are co-Offensive Players of the Week, while Mid-America Christian's Tyler McIntosh is Defensive Player of the Week.

Collins, a sophomore forward from Kingston, Jamaica, had three goals in two RSU draws at Wayland Baptist and Lubbock Christian. He scored once in a 2-2 tie at LCU and had both goals in a 2-2 draw at WBU. Collins has a team-leading nine goals on the season and has found the back of the net in seven of the last eight games.

Sansford, a junior forward from Colchester, England, recorded a hat trick against Oklahoma City, scoring all three goals in the second half to rally from a 2-0 deficit for a 3-2 win.

McIntosh, a freshman goalkeeper from Sand Springs, Okla., allowed one goal against 13 saves in a 1-1 week. He stopped 10 of 11 shots on goal against USAO and had three saves in a 1-0 shutout over St. Gregory's.

Rogers State (5-6-3) returns to SAC action on Friday night as the Cats host John Brown at 8 p.m. The game will be broadcasted live on the Hillcat Network at www.rsuhillcats.com/live.
