Five Hillcats Named to the 2012 Capital One Academic All-District ® Men's and Women's Soccer Teams

CLAREMORE, Okla.-Five Rogers State men’s and women’s soccer players have been named to the 2012 Capital One Academic All-District ® Men’s and Women’s Soccer Teams, selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America.

Four women’s soccer players and one men’s soccer player have been recognized as the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom

Sophomore Patrick Seward represented the Hillcat men’s soccer program on the Academic All-District ®  team with a 3.65 grade point average (GPA), majoring in Political Science. The Claremore, Okla. native has played in all 17 games on the Hillcat defense, helping RSU to a second place finish in the Sooner Athletic Conference regular season standings.

Senior Lauren Hager is a three-time Academic All-District ® honoree. The Belgrade, Mont. native is majoring in Medical Molecular Biology with a 3.86 GPA. The three-year captain has played in 71 games over her four-year career, starting in each contest.  She has netted 21 goals and dishing out nine assists.

Junior Loren LeForce has started in all 17 games for the Hillcats this season on the back line. The junior Accounting major holds a 4.00 GPA. She helped RSU to its sixth straight postseason appearance as the defense held its opponents to less than one goal per game.

Cierra Lohaus is majoring in Medical Molecular Biology and holds a 3.95 GPA. The defender from Bulverde, Texas has played in 16 games this season, aiding the Cats to their sixth 10-win season.

Sophomore Jordan Beasley rounds out the honorees as she holds a 4.0 as a Molecular Biology major. The Lafayette, La. native is tied for second in goals scored with five on the year while leading the team in assists with seven.  She has produced two game-winning goals and started in all 12 games she has played in this year.

The Academic All-District ® teams are divided into eight geographic districts across the United States and Canada. First-team Academic All-District ® honorees advance to the Capital One Academic All-America® Team ballot, where first-, second- and third-team All-America honorees will be selected later this month.
