Ada, Okla.- The Rogers State menís and womenís cross country teams both finished in sixth place at the East Central Tiger Chase on Saturday morning.
The last third of the 5k women's race happened in intense winds and a heavy downpour, making the 8k men's race wet, with plenty of puddles.
Midwestern State won the women's title while Nikki Reid of Eastern New Mexico University took home the individual honor finishing with a time of 19:44.
Jessie Zingo paced the RSU women with a 25th place finish. The senior from Oologah, Okla. ran the 5k in 22:49.
Fellow senior, Kendall Clement followed with a time of 23:56, placing 30th.
Breana Harrison finished with a time of 24:00, good for 32nd place. Teammate Tiffany Russell placed 38th while Ashton Parent finished 41st. Brittany White rounded out the womenís scoring, placing 43rd.
†Eastern New Mexico claimed the men's title and Mohamed Noor paced their squad, finishing first overall with a time of 25:49.
†Junior Caleb Clark led the way for the Hillcats, earning seventh place with a time of 26:39.
†Brandon Payne posted a time of 28:25, placing 30th, while Oscar Reyes placed 51st.
Josh Phillipi and Josh Maggord rounded out the scoring, finishing 64th and 65th respectively.
Redshirt freshman Jarrett Sanders competed in the race unattached, placing 33rd with a time of 28:33.
The Hillcats will compete in the Sooner Athletic Conference Tournament on Saturday, Nov. 6 at the Gordon Cooper Vo-tech in Shawnee, Okla.
