About: McKewon started in 58 of the Hillcats 60 games in 2011. He stole 10 bases and drove in 42 runs while batting .246 on the season. As a mainstay in the Hillcat infield, he compiled a .914 fielding percentage. He transferred to RSU after two years at Independence CC under head coach Tye Hallowell. In 2010 he hit .425 with 10 home runs at Independence and was named all-conference and all-region shortstop. He was named all-conference third baseman in 2009 while hitting .406 and six home runs. He said he chose RSU because “it’s close to home and because of the coaching staff.”
