BARTLESVILLE, Okla. – Rogers State women's golf wrapped up the first day of the NCAA Division II Central Region Championship on Monday.

After the first 18 holes at the par 72, 5,921 yard Hillcrest Country Club, the Hillcats sit in third place with a card of 305 (+17), just seven strokes behind the leader.

Marelda Ayal and
Lydia Sitorus are in a five-way tie atop the leaderboard after both shot a 72 (E) on the day. Ayal and Sitorus have had success before at this course as both finished in the top 10 during the regional preview tournament during the fall, in fact Sitorus tied the course record with a 69 (-3) in the final round of that tournament.

Kristin Gudmundsdottir sits in a five-way tie for 25th with a card of 79 (+7).
Brianna Maddux sits in a group of six tied at 39th with an 82 (+10).
Lauren Anderson rounds out the group in a tie for 47th with an 84 (+12).

The Hillcats will look to continue to close the gap on the leaders in the second round tomorrow. The first group is set to tee off at 11 a.m.
