Tandem Mays begins her fourth season at RSU
after joining the basketball staff in August 2008.
Mays was a four-year letter-winner and a three-year starter for the Golden
Hurricane from 2003-07. She led TU to a regular season and conference
tournament championship during her junior season and served as a team captain
as a senior.
Mays concluded her collegiate career with seven records on TU’s Top 10 list,
including first in games played (123), second in assists (366) and ninth in
points (836). She also led Fort Smith Northside High School to back-to-back
state titles as a prep.
RSU marks the first coaching stint for Mays after interning with the Tulsa
women’s basketball program during her senior year. The Fort Smith, Ark., native
graduated from TU with a degree in Exercise and Sport Science. At RSU Mays is
involved with on the court coaching, recruiting and scouting and works
primarily with guards during skill development.
